Mr. Khalid Mohammed Nouh was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of TAQA on 1st of November 2019, bringing with him over 30 years of experience in the oil & gas industry. He also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arabian Drilling Company (ADC), the Arabian Geophysical & Surveying Company (ARGAS), the Jubail Energy Services Company (JESCO), and is a member of the Board of Directors of OPT Worldwide Inc, Beijing – China.
In his capacity as TAQA CEO, Mr. Nouh has focused on positioning TAQA in a leadership position within the Oilfield Services and Equipment (OFSE) industry, divesting non-core businesses, integrating international operations such as Cougar Drilling Solutions into the Saudi, Middle East, and North African operations, and building TAQA’s new product development pipeline in TAQA’s international headquarters in Alberta – Canada.
Mr. Nouh’s known track record of execution excellence, corporate governance, and resilient Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment performance helped assure immediate cohesion within the TAQA corporate culture, across the group and all subsidiaries. Under his leadership, the company has shifted its focus and priorities to becoming a leading force in almost every product or service provided, creating outstanding shareholder value.
Mr. Nouh joined TAQA originally as Executive Vice President – Production and Completions Group in January 2019, as well as Chairman of the Board of Directors of TAQA-Sanjel. During this time, he was responsible for commissioning the Kingdom’s first hydraulic fracturing operations and led the inauguration of TAQA Operations Headquarters in Dammam 2nd Industrial City.
Before joining TAQA, Mr. Nouh held several leadership positions with international companies headquartered in Dubai – UAE, where he was the Chief Technology Officer of the international subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC). He also served as Executive Officer and President of Baker Hughes Inc (NYSE: BKR) for the Middle East and Asia Pacific region from 2008 until 2017. Additionally, before Mr. Nouh joined Baker Hughes Inc, he spent 19 years with Schlumberger (NYSE: SLB) in several technical, product development, and leadership positions based out of Dhahran – KSA, Dubai – UAE, Paris – FR, and Houston – TX. Mr. Nouh began his career in 1989with Saudi Aramco’s Manufacturing, Supply and transportation Business Line before moving to Schlumberger in 1994.
Mr. Nouh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from King Saud University and has received several advanced courses in Energy Economics, Investment banking, Finance, and Leadership over his career. He is a lifelong member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and is an active board member of the Saudi Arabian chapter of the SPE.
