Hao Zhang is an Associate Professor at the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) since August 2016, specializing in theoretical high energy physics. Previous experience includes a Postdoctoral Researcher position at UC Santa Barbara from September 2013 to October 2016 and two Postdoc roles at Argonne National Laboratory and Illinois Institute of Technology between October 2011 and August 2013. Hao Zhang's research areas encompass electroweak symmetry breaking, new physics beyond the Standard Model, large hadron collider (LHC) physics, and dark matter within the context of particle physics and cosmology. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Theoretical Physics from Peking University (2006-2011), a Non-Degree Visiting Student position at the University of Chicago (2009-2010), a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from Peking University (2002-2006), and completion of high school at the Second Middle School attached to Beijing Normal University (1996-2002).
