Managing Director, Regulatory Affairs at Institute of International Finance

Andres Portilla has extensive experience in the financial industry, particularly in regulatory affairs. Andres is currently the Managing Director of Regulatory Affairs at the Institute of International Finance, where they oversee the overall activities of the organization in the area of global financial regulation. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of the Regulatory Affairs Department at the same institute. Andres has also held the position of Deputy Director of Regulatory Affairs at the Institute of International Finance. Before joining the IIF, Portilla worked as a Legal Counsel at the Colombian Bankers Association and as an Associate Director at the Cooperative Bank of Colombia.

Andres Portilla obtained a Bachelor of Laws (JD) degree from Universidad del Rosario in 1994. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Gimnasio Moderno from 1982 to 1988. Later on, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at SDA Bocconi in 2000-2001. In 1998-1999, they also studied International Comparative Law, earning an LLM degree from Penn State Dickinson Law.
