Gene Ma has extensive work experience in the financial industry. Gene started their career as the Chief Macro Analyst at Citic Securities from June 2004 to May 2007. Gene then served as the President & Chief Analyst at CEBM from June 2007 to December 2008. After that, they worked as a Managing Director at ISI Group, Inc. from January 2009 to March 2011. Gene then joined Tudor Investment as the Director of China Strategy from March 2011 to October 2016. Currently, Gene Ma is the Head of China Research and Chief Representative for the Asia/Pacific region at the Institute of International Finance, a position they have held since November 2016.
Gene Ma attended Peking University from 1984 to 1988. Later, they pursued their education at Cornell University from 1993 to 1997.
