Juan A. Casals Ovalle

Juan A. Casals Ovalle serves as the Global Head of Sustainable Finance at BBVA C&IB since June 2004, with roles including Director of Environmental, Social, and Reputational Risk, and responsible for the Equator Principles. Additionally, Juan is an investor at Byld and BackFund, focusing on transformative business ventures and seed-stage tech startups respectively. Since May 2013, Juan has collaborated with various impactful startups as an investor and advisor. Furthermore, Juan is active in sustainable finance initiatives as a member of working groups at the Institute of International Finance and the European Banking Federation. Juan also contributes to academia, teaching Corporate Responsibility and Sustainable Finance at business schools.
