Hermela Engida

Hermela Engida is an experienced leader in civil engineering and project management, currently serving as President of the Student Chapter at the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), where responsibilities include planning activities and mentoring students through the ICE Buddy scheme. Previous roles include Vice President and Secretary within the same chapter, along with tutoring in Math and Science for Unitors. Engida’s experience extends to quality assurance as a Quality Assurance Quality Control Engineer at Emirates Precast Construction LLC, overseeing on-site inspections and collaborating with design teams. Additional leadership experience includes serving as Local Committee Vice President for AIESEC in the United Arab Emirates, where project management and market research were key responsibilities, as well as event coordination for pre-COP28 initiatives. Engida is pursuing studies at Heriot-Watt University, slated for completion in 2025.
