John Dixon Fo

John Dixon, FO, GIFireE, serves as the Coordinator of Fire Science at Sussex County Community College since February 2023, overseeing the Fire Science Technology Degree and Certificate Programs. Since 2001, John has been the Director of the Sussex County Public Safety Training Academy and holds the position of Tour Commander for the 2nd Platoon at the Township of Teaneck. Additionally, John has been a member of the FRI Planning Committee for the International Association of Fire Chiefs since August 2018 and serves as a CPC Designation Peer Reviewer with the Center for Public Safety Excellence. As an Executive Board Member of Kill The Flashover Inc. and a Knight 4th Degree with the Knights of Columbus, John is also recognized for advocacy work as the NJ State Lead Advocate for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation from January 2015 to October 2023. John holds a B.S. in Fire Administration from Columbia Southern University and has completed various emergency management and leadership courses through the US Fire Administration.
