Kristie S. Johnson, PhD, CFRE, currently serves as Vice President of Development & External Affairs at The International Center in Indianapolis, a position held since November 2023. With extensive experience in grant management and institutional advancement, Kristie has led initiatives at various organizations, including Embrace Your Inner Nerd Consulting as Chief Development Officer + Strategist + CEO since 2007, and Martin University as Vice President of Institutional Advancement from 2021 to 2023. Kristie's academic contributions include adjunct professorships at Marian University Indianapolis, teaching courses related to qualitative research methods and philanthropy. An accomplished grant writer, Kristie has secured millions in funding for educational and nonprofit organizations, and has a solid educational background with a PhD in Leadership in Higher Education from Bellarmine University, an Executive MBA from Howard University, and multiple degrees in international studies and development.
