Per-Anders Widell

Per-Anders Widell is an experienced professional in the field of energy management and international relations, currently serving as Programme Manager at the International Energy Agency since February 2019. Widell has held significant roles at Regeringskansliet within the Miljö- och energidepartementet as Head of Section, responsible for international energy relations and clean energy initiatives, and previously as Kansliråd/Deputy Director focusing on Sweden's energy collaboration and policy promotion. Prior experience includes leadership in the Swedish Government's Cleantech Strategy, serving as a Desk Officer at the Permanent Representation of Sweden to the EU during the Swedish Presidency, and working as a Political Assistant at the European Parliament. Early career roles included an internship at the Embassy of Sweden to Canada and a volunteer coordinator position in Brazil. Widell holds a Master's degree in Economics from Linköping University and has studied at Lund University and The University of New Mexico.
