Ashok Sivakumar's work experience begins in 2003 as an ANOSC-Europe Operations Officer at 5th Signal Command (Theater). From 2005 to 2006, they served as a 1st Lieutenant Automation Officer and Deployed Network Administrator at A Company, 44th Signal Battalion. In 2005, they also joined the US Army Signal Corps as a Captain, serving as an Automations Officer until 2006. Ashok then worked as a Project Manager and Senior Professional Staff at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory from 2007 to 2013. Ashok joined Palantir Technologies as a Forward Deployed Engineer from 2013 to 2015. Since 2009, Ashok has been working at The Johns Hopkins University as a Graduate Student Researcher, specializing in algorithms, software, and analytical approaches for biological data sets. Since 2015, they have also been a Senior Cyber and Technical Lead (Space Exploration Systems) at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.
Ashok Sivakumar began their education at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South, where they obtained their HS Diploma in 1997. Ashok then attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1997 to 2002, completing their undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science. During this time, they also earned a Bachelor's degree in Management/Operations Research from MIT Sloan School of Management. Finally, they pursued a Doctorate in Computer Science at the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering from 2010 to 2020, successfully obtaining their PhD.
