Katie Blyth, also known as LeCates Blyth, has a diverse work experience in the fields of technical art, art direction, graphic design, and motion graphics. LeCates (Katie) is currently working as the Chief Technical Artist at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory since 2023. Prior to that, they held roles such as Art Director and Senior Artist at the same organization. Blyth also has experience as a Visual Information Specialist at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory from 2016 to 2021. Before joining the laboratory, they were the Owner and Principal Designer of Studio Nouveaux, a creative studio specializing in graphic design solutions. Blyth completed a Master's degree in 2D and 3D Motion Graphics with a research focus on visualization at The Glasgow School of Art. LeCates (Katie) also worked as a Graphics Designer at the Durham Convention & Visitors Bureau and as a Manager of Operational Services/Design at CeNeRx BioPharma, Inc. Additionally, Blyth gained experience in web design and development, photography, and computer troubleshooting as an IT Unit Summer Intern at the United States Park Police.
LeCates (Katie) Blyth's education history includes a BS in Graphic Arts and Imaging Technology, with a concentration in Medical Illustration, from Appalachian State University (2002-2006). LeCates (Katie) also pursued a Masters in Animation from The Glasgow School of Art (2008-2009) and an MPhil in Animation from the same institution (2009-2010). Currently, they are attending Yale School of Management, specializing in Creative Executive Management. Additionally, they hold a certification in HIPPA from The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.
