Michael Paul is a seasoned aerospace professional with extensive experience in space systems development and mission formulation. Currently serving as the Space Systems Development Program Area Manager, Mission Formulation Engineer, and Space Exploration Mission Formulation Lead at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory since February 2017, Michael develops missions for solar system exploration, building on prior successes. Prior experiences include directing Space Systems Initiatives at Penn State University, leading efforts in solar system exploration and technology development, and heading Penn State's Google Lunar X PRIZE team, the Lunar Lion. Michael's background also encompasses roles as a Space Systems Engineer at both Johns Hopkins and Orbital Sciences Corporation, as well as a Satellite System Test Engineer at Hughes Space and Communications. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in Applied Physics from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace from the University of Notre Dame.
