Melissa Breth, DNP, RN-BC has a diverse work experience spanning various healthcare organizations and roles. Melissa currently serves as the Associate Project Director of Clinical Quality Informatics at the Joint Commission since 2023. Prior to this, they held leadership positions at GIC HIMSS, including President and President-Elect. Melissa also served as the Managing Partner of their own consulting company, Breth Consulting, LLC, where they partnered with healthcare organizations to support successful technology implementation and optimization. Melissa has expertise in informatics and clinical collaboration, having worked as the Director of Clinical Informatics at Burwood Group and Community Health Systems. Melissa has also held positions at Northwest Community Healthcare, Southwest Medical Associates, Sutter Health, maxIT Healthcare, and Zynx Health. Melissa's work experience demonstrates their commitment to improving patient care through the effective use of technology and informatics.

Melissa Breth, DNP, RN-BC has an extensive education history in the field of nursing and healthcare informatics. Melissa earned their doctorate, a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), from Loyola University Chicago, specializing in healthcare informatics. This educational achievement occurred between the years 2016 and 2018. Prior to their DNP, Melissa obtained a Master of Science degree from Loyola University Chicago from 2001 to 2004, with a concentration in nursing informatics. Their undergraduate studies took place at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) between the years 1994 and 1999.
