Denise Holle

Denise Holle is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in social investment and finance. Currently serving as the Head of Social Investment at Joseph Rowntree Foundation since August 2020, Denise manages a diverse portfolio aimed at achieving financial returns while promoting social impact. Previously, as Interim Portfolio Director at Big Society Capital, Denise oversaw a £500 million impact funds portfolio. Denise has held several senior leadership roles, including Investment Director at Numbers4Good and Chief Operating Officer at London Youth Rowing. Denise's early career includes significant positions at Merrill Lynch as Director of EMEA Corporate Strategy and at the World Bank as a Financial Policy Specialist. Denise holds an MBA from Harvard University and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Yale University, supplemented by time as a Fulbright Scholar in Belgrade.
