Evan Craine is a Research Associate at The Land Institute, focusing on end-use quality of perennial grains and working closely with plant breeders to enhance nutritional and ecosystem benefits of these crops. Previously served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Legumes Breeding Program at The Land Institute, concentrating on the perennial pulse crop candidate, Sainfoin. Prior experience includes a Graduate Research Assistant role at Washington State University, where involvement in quinoa breeding and nutritional phenotyping occurred, and participation in various research projects at institutions such as The University of Texas at Austin and Archbold Biological Station. Holder of a Ph.D. in Crop Science with a specialization in Plant Breeding and Genetics from Washington State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Organismal Biology and Ecology from Colorado College.
