Bernadette Charan is a CPA, CMA, and CIA with extensive experience in audit, compliance, and risk management. Currently serving as the Manager of Trust Safety at the Law Society of Alberta since March 2017, Bernadette leads initiatives to protect the public and ensure compliance with trust property regulations. Prior to this role, Bernadette worked at Newalta from 2007 to February 2017 in various positions, including Supervisor of Audit and Compliance, where responsibilities included managing Internal Audit consultants and enhancing business processes. Additional experience includes roles at City Wide Excavating as an Auditor and Corporate Accounting Analyst. Bernadette holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Trent University and completed CPA and CMA designations through CPA Canada between 2010 and 2012.
