Catherine A. Minnis

Catherine A. Minnis, MBA has a diverse work experience with various organizations. Catherine A. has worked as a Senior Project Coordinator for Broward County Government, where they developed relationships with non-profit organizations, businesses, and educational entities to align apprenticeship and workforce training opportunities with employment needs. Catherine also founded their own consulting firm called The Minnis Group in 2011, where they provided business development, marketing, fundraising, and public relations services to small businesses and non-profits. Catherine A. has held leadership positions in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and The Links, Incorporated, where they focused on financial affairs and program development, respectively. Catherine also served as an Executive Board Member for the Episcopal Diocese of Southeast Florida. In addition, they have experience in politics as an Area Leader for the Broward Democratic Party and as a candidate for Commissioner in the City of Miramar. Catherine has also worked in education as a Continuing Education Instructor for Miami Dade College and as a Broward Advisor for Continuing Education in Broward County Public Schools, where they provided college and career readiness guidance to high school students. Previously, they held a managerial role at Republic Services, where they developed and implemented sales strategies for municipal franchise agreements. Catherine's work experience demonstrates their expertise in relationship building, business development, community outreach, and education.

Catherine A. Minnis, MBA has a diverse education history. In 1995 to 1997, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Business from Florida International University - College of Business. Later, in 2019 to 2020, they studied Project Management at Project Management Institute. In 2011, they earned a Non-profit Management Certification from Duke University. Continuing their education, Catherine completed a Certificate in Construction Management from Miami Dade College in 2009. Additionally, they participated in various training programs, including the Citizens' Academy Program-Miami Division at the U.S. Department of Justice in 2008, the Board Examiner Training in Organizational Performance Excellence from the Florida Sterling Council in 2007, and the Professional Certification in Business Management from the National Black MBA Association, Inc. in 2006. Catherine A. also completed the Leadership Miami program at the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce in 1997. Recently, in January 2022, they completed the Black Technology Ecosystem Investors (BTEI) Certificate Program at OHUB. Overall, Catherine has a strong educational background with a focus on business management, non-profit management, project management, and leadership development.
