Jerry Cooperstein

Jerry Cooperstein has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Jerry started their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Nordita from 1982 to 1985. From there, they worked as an Associate Scientist at Brookhaven National Laboratory from 1985 to 1989. In 1989, they became a Visiting Professor at the University of Michigan for a year before joining Fermilab as a Visiting Scientist from 1990 to 1993. Simultaneously, Jerry also took on the role of Professor at the University of Washington from 1990 to 1993. From 1993 to 1994, they served as a Visiting Professor at Oregon State University. In 1994, they embarked on a long-term role as a senior consultant at Axian, where they stayed until 2009. At that point, they transitioned to their current position as the Training Program Director at the Linux Foundation, where they have been working since 2009.

Jerry Cooperstein completed their education at Stony Brook University. Jerry earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physics from 1968 to 1972. Jerry then pursued further studies in Physics at Stony Brook University, where they obtained a Master's degree in 1980. Jerry continued their education at the same university and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Physics from 1979 to 1982.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Jerry Cooperstein has also obtained several certifications. Jerry became a Course Developer at The Linux Foundation in December 2009. Jerry has also served on various Program Committees at The Linux Foundation, including Open Source Summit Europe in 2022, Open Source Summit North America in 2022, Open Source Summit in 2021, Open Source Summit Europe in 2020, and Open Source Summit North America in 2020.
