Alanna Kennedy, PhD, CMPP has extensive work experience in various scientific and medical roles. Alanna has been employed at Lockwood since 2015, starting as a Scientific Director and progressing to Senior Scientific Director and Team Lead. Currently, they hold the position of VP, Group Scientific Director. Prior to Lockwood, they worked at Virtuoso HC as a Medical Director and Medical Editor. Alanna also served as a Professor of Biology, Adjunct at Farmingdale State University of New York. Alanna has worked as a Freelance Medical Writer and Regulatory Affairs Scientist at IRX Therapeutics, Inc. and as a Medical Writer at Clinical Insights.

Alanna Kennedy, PhD, CMPP holds a diverse educational background in the fields of genetics, oncology, and zoology. Between 2002 and 2007, they pursued their PhD in Genetics at Stony Brook University, specializing in the field of oncology. Prior to that, from 1999 to 2002, they completed their MSc in Zoology at North Carolina State University. Earlier in their academic journey, Kennedy obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Zoology from Connecticut College from 1995 to 1999.

Apart from their formal education, Kennedy has also acquired the certification of a Certified Medical Publication Professional (CMPP) from the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals. Alanna obtained this certification in April 2017, further enhancing their expertise in the field.
