David Skok has extensive experience in the media industry, having worked in various leadership and editorial roles. David is currently the CEO and Editor-in-Chief of The Logic, a position they have held since 2018. Prior to this, they served as the Associate Editor and Head of Editorial Strategy at The Toronto Star from 2016 to 2017. From 2013 to 2016, they worked at The Boston Globe as the Managing Editor and Vice President, Digital, responsible for overseeing the $35M digital operation. Before that, they held roles at Shaw Communications, where they served as the Director of Digital | Global News and Managing Editor of Globalnews.ca. David was also a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University from 2011 to 2012. Earlier in their career, they worked at Canwest Broadcasting as a Senior Producer, Online Content | Global News, Online Producer, and Broadcast News Producer. David also had a brief stint at ABC News with Nightline.
David Skok attended Western University for an unspecified period, where they did not obtain a degree nor specify a field of study. Following this, they pursued their undergraduate studies at Ryerson University from 2001 to 2002, earning a BA hons in Journalism. Later, in 2011, Skok enrolled at Harvard University and completed a Nieman Fellowship in Journalism and Strategic Management in 2012.
