Shane Smithson

Shane Smithson is currently the Director of Member Engagement at The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, overseeing annual giving, online giving, and stewardship correspondence while making top-level decisions for the development team. Previously, Shane served as a Mission Advocate, demonstrating proficiency in relationship cultivation and major gift solicitation with strong public speaking abilities. Shane's earlier experiences include a Social Work Internship at the Cancer Support Community of Greater St. Louis and another Social Work Internship at Alexian Brothers Health System. Additionally, Shane participated in FEMA Corps as an Americorps Member, where involvement in disaster response and recovery efforts was emphasized. Shane holds a Business Foundations Certificate in Business Administration and Management from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, a Master of Social Work from Saint Louis University, and a degree from Concordia University-Wisconsin.
