Matthew Spencer

Matthew Spencer has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Matthew worked as a Lead R&D Engineer at The LYCRA Company starting in September 2023. Prior to that, they served as an R&D Chemical Engineer at The LYCRA Company from February 2019 to September 2023. Before that, they held a similar role at INVISTA from August 2018 to January 2019. Matthew also worked as a Senior Polymer Engineer at Austin Rubber Company from January 2015 to April 2018. Matthew began their career as a Polymer Engineer at Green Source Holdings from October 2011 to December 2014. Matthew also worked as an Editor at American Journal Experts from March 2010 to October 2011. Matthew gained research experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Texas at Austin from August 2006 to October 2011, and as a Research Assistant at the Design Institute for Physical Properties from October 2004 to August 2006. Matthew began their career as a Voluntary Representative for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from August 2001 to August 2003.

Matthew Spencer has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, which they obtained between 2006 and 2011. Prior to their PhD, they completed a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering at the same university from 2006 to 2009. Matthew completed their undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University from 2000 to 2006, where they received a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Economics. Before their university education, Matthew attended Davis High School from 1997 to 2000.
