Christina Lai currently serves as the Director of Trainees in Unaccredited Positions at the Sydney Local Health District and has been a Staff Specialist in Nephrology at Concord Repatriation General Hospital since July 2021, where Christina improved COVID-positive dialysis patient flow during the Omicron outbreak and organized leadership and productivity workshops for medical staff. With experience as the Director of Hospital Non-specialist Program at Murrumbidgee Local Health District since 2018, Christina established the Australian Rural Training Innovation Enterprise and developed a clinical skills program for junior medical officers while mentoring senior resident medical officers. Christina's roles also include serving as a Nephrologist across multiple hospitals, focusing on patient management for hypertensive disorders in pregnancy, inpatient dialysis care, and expanding renal services. Christina holds a PhD in Renal Transplantation from the University of Sydney and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Nephrology, complemented by an MBBS from UNSW.
