Shift Lead - Community Residence Counselor at McLean Hospital

Jake Galler has a diverse work experience starting in 2009 as a Referee for the Marshfield Boys Youth Lacrosse League, where they ensured the safety of players and mentored younger boys on the rules and ethics of the sport. In 2015, they worked as a Mental Health Associate at ARBOUR HEALTH SYSTEM. From 2016 to 2016, they served as a Peer Mentor at UMass Boston within the Honors College, guiding first-year students on health psychology, wellness, and public policy. Jake then became a Head Lacrosse Coach for the Marshfield Boys Youth Lacrosse League from 2015 to 2016. In 2018, they joined McLean Hospital as a Shift Lead - Community Residence Counselor, responsible for coordinating treatment and activities on a residential unit. Their role also included additional administrative responsibilities such as admissions processing and staff management. Since 2021, Jake has been working at Massachusetts General Hospital, initially as a Clinical Research Coordinator and later as a Project Coordinator. In these roles, they led a multi-phase validation trial for a digital phenotyping tool and gained certification as an MRI scanner operator.
