Infrastructure Analyst at Medical Protection Society

Chris Dearnley has a diverse work experience in the field of IT infrastructure and support. Chris started their career in 2005 as a Health Frontline Analyst at BT Global Services, where they managed incidents and provided support for NHS Core Service and various applications within the NHS Spine. Chris also took on the responsibilities of training new staff and maintaining a knowledge base.

In 2006, Chris joined the University of Leeds as a Service Desk Analyst, where they provided technical support to staff and students until 2011.

Following this, Chris worked as an Infrastructure Engineer at NIHR Clinical Research Network from 2011 to 2018. In this role, they focused on Microsoft and Windows Server configurations and support, including Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008 R2, and 2012 R2. Chris also gained experience in RemoteApp and RDS deployments and provided desktop support for various Windows versions.

Currently, Chris is employed at the Medical Protection Society, starting in 2018 as an Infrastructure Analyst. Here, they are responsible for developing and managing applications and infrastructure using appropriate architecture streams, both in Azure and on-premise solutions. Chris'swork also includes Azure Cloud Engineering, where they design, deploys, and supports Azure IaaS solutions, utilizing technologies such as Traffic Managers, Front Door, WAF, Web Apps, Application Insights, and Key Vaults.

Chris Dearnley completed a Bsc in Psychology from Northumbria University from 2002 to 2005. Prior to that, from 1999 to 2002, Chris attended Notre Dame Sixth Form College, where they pursued A-levels in Computing, English, and Psychology. Chris'ssecondary education took place at St. Thomas A Beckets High from 1994 to 1999, where they obtained 11 GCSEs at grades A-C. In terms of additional certifications, Chris obtained the AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft in November 2022.
