Jared Reaves, MD, FAAPMR, is a Board Certified Physiatrist. He graduated from Bowie State University with a B.S. in Natural Sciences. Prior to enrolling through medical school, Dr. Reaves worked as a Crisis Counselor for a community crisis residential service. Jared graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, did a General Surgery Internship at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va, where he served as Chief Resident. He remained at EVMS as an attending and served as a team physician for the Norfolk Public Schools Football team, where he evaluated musculoskeletal injuries and concussions.
Dr. Reaves moved to Maryland, his home state, and began working at Dimensions Healthcare, which eventually became the University of Maryland Capital Region. He is currently the Medical Director of Technology and Informatics. During his time with UM Capital Region, Dr. Reaves worked establishing clinical solutions for telemedicine during the Covid Crisis. He was also on the team tasked to reopen Laurel Regional Hospital that currently treats much of Maryland’s Covid-19 population. Dr. Reaves was also Medical Director of Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation and Wound Care and the primary rehabilitation consultant for Chronic Hospitalization. Clinically he continues to collaborate with inpatient rehabilitation and wound consultation. Dr. Reaves also practices ambulatory medicine focusing on mobility and acquired brain injury. In 2019, he completed the inaugural University of Maryland Medical System Physician Leadership Fellowship.
