Jorge J. Villalba

Before attending medical school, Dr. Villalba studied Medical Technology and was licensed by Florida with a Biophysics specialty. He worked as a scientist for a leading manufacturer of diagnostic laboratory testing equipment before deciding that medical school was his true calling. Dr Villalba graduated from Central Eastern University, College of Medicine, San Pedro De Macoris, D.R. in 1986. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine, Neurology, and Psychiatry at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, New York Medical College, in 1987, where he also completed a residency in Adult Psychiatry in 1990. Dr. Villalba then completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of South Florida, College of Medicine 1992, where he was appointed Chief Resident by the faculty. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology and is board certified in Adult Psychiatry, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, and Brain Injury Medicine. He is also a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and a Fellow of the Interamerican College of Physicians and Surgeons. He has 29 years of experience in treatment and rehabilitation of brain injuries, psychiatry, and neuropsychiatry.
