Mark Goodwin serves as the Director of Behaviour & Wellbeing at The Mercian Trust since September 2022, overseeing behaviour and wellbeing across nine schools. Previously, Mark worked as a Freelance Education Consultant with Equal Parts Education from March 2018 to August 2022, focusing on engaging disengaged students and training educators on behaviour policies. Mark's experience includes serving as Deputy Head Teacher at Kingsmead School from January 2014 to January 2018, where responsibilities included staff development and student achievement initiatives, as well as Assistant Principal at John Taylor High School from September 2005 to December 2013, focusing on literacy and intervention strategies. Mark holds an NPQH in Education Leadership from Warwick University and a BA (Hons) in History with Politics from the University of Wolverhampton.

A Multi Academy Trust of nine schools and 10,000 students in Walsall and Sandwell. Often referred to as the most diverse family of schools in the country, the Trust comprises of two selective grammar schools, five large comprehensive schools, a technical and vocational Studio School and an Alternative Provision free school for children at risk of exclusion from mainstream education.
