Maricela Haghiac

Maricela Haghiac has extensive experience in clinical research and laboratory management, currently serving as the Assistant Manager of the Clinical Research Unit and previously as the Research Laboratory Manager at The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH since August 2011. In addition, Maricela held the role of Lab Manager/Researcher in the Rheumatology Department at MetroHealth Medical Center from March 2018 to March 2024. Prior experience includes positions as a Research Associate at Case Western Reserve University focusing on inflammatory processes in obese pregnant women and breast cancer research, as well as postdoctoral fellowships at NEOUCOM and the Medical University of South Carolina concentrating on liver research and chemoprevention in oral cancer, respectively. Maricela holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Clemson University and a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science from Food Industry Romania.
