Emily Balter

Emily Balter currently serves as Associate General Counsel at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, a position held since January 2023, after previously holding the role of Assistant General Counsel. Prior experience includes serving as a Litigation Attorney at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP from September 2013 to December 2022. In addition, Emily Balter interned at the U.S. Department of Justice in 2011 and worked as an Analyst at Kobre & Kim LLP and as a Private Equity Analyst at Lehman Brothers prior to that. Emily Balter earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Harvard Law School in 2013 and holds an AB in Art History from Princeton University, completed in 2008.
