Jessica Herczeg-Konecny has had a diverse range of work experiences in various institutions. Jessica began their career as a Paralegal at Morrison & Foerster LLP, where they handled document management and provided assistance to attorneys. Jessica then transitioned to the public history field, working as a Project Archivist at History San Jose, where they managed the relocation of the Research Library's collections. Later, they interned at the Indiana State Museum as a Collections Management Intern and conducted inventory, cataloging, and conservation work. Jessica continued their museum work as an Exhibitions Intern at the Indiana Historical Society, where they conducted research for immersive exhibitions. Jessica also worked as a Freelance Exhibitions Researcher for the Indiana Historical Society and as a Visual Resources Researcher at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Jessica's roles at the Chicago History Museum included Licensing and Reproductions Coordinator, where they handled client care, completed legal contracts, and reviewed copyright issues. Jessica also worked as a Collections Technician, managing loans and retrieving objects for display. At the Detroit Institute of Arts, they served as a Digital Asset Manager, configuring and maintaining digital asset management systems and leading implementation projects. Jessica'scurrent position is at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where they hold the role of Lead Technical Analyst for Digital Asset Management.
Jessica Herczeg-Konecny (she/her) completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in American Culture Studies and English at Washington University in St. Louis from 1998 to 2002. Jessica then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Arts in Public/Applied History from Indiana University Indianapolis between 2007 and 2013.
