Akash Dewan

Akash Dewan is a dedicated student at the University of Michigan, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Information Analytics. Currently serving as a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan's School of Information, Akash is focused on building interactive data visualizations for a social media archival research project under the supervision of Sarita Schoenebeck. As the Head of Photography/Videography for Michigan in Color at The Michigan Daily, Akash leads the photography department and contributes to digital/social media strategies, while also supporting the TMD Data team in investigative journalism through data visualization. Previous experience includes internships at Warner Bros. Discovery, where Akash worked in Corporate Research, Data & Insights, and at the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research, assisting Professor Sun Kyoung Lee with research on inequality and urban development. Earlier roles at Excelera Health as a Creative Strategist and at Competitive Analytics as an Intern further demonstrate a robust background in research and creative strategy.
