Maria Ansari, MD, FACC is the physician in chief and chief of staff of Kaiser Permanente, San Francisco Medical Center, where she oversees the medical group and care delivery across the outpatient and inpatient space in an integrated, multidisciplinary model of care. She is a cardiologist who specializes in heart failure and joined The Permanente Medical Group in 2004. She started Kaiser Permanente Northern California’s first cardiology fellowship program. She was the former chair of chiefs of Cardiology for NCAL and interregional chair for Cardiology. In that role, she helped develop and internalize several regional services for NCAL KP including the Adult Congenital Heart Disease, Structural Heart Disease, and Pulmonary Hypertension programs. She completed her cardiology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco where she was previously an assistant clinical professor of medicine. Prior to that, she received her training at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor for Biology, Medicine, and Internal Medicine. Together with her husband, two kids, and puppy, she lives in San Francisco and enjoys running in the Presidio.
