Fitsum Girma Demissie

Fitsum Girma Demissie is an experienced diplomat currently serving as a Counselor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia since April 2023. Previously, Fitsum held the position of Political Officer at the Embassy of Ethiopia to Egypt from September 2017 to September 2021, and served as Third Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia from September 2013 to September 2017. Early in the career, Fitsum completed a Trainee Diplomat program at the MFA and worked as a Market Development Officer at Nifas Silk Sub City Administration. Academically, Fitsum holds an Executive Master in Global Public Diplomacy and Sustainable Development from Luiss Guido Carli University, a Master of Arts in Global Affairs with a concentration on International Security from The American University in Cairo, a Post Graduate Diploma in Diplomacy and International Relations from the Foreign Service Training Institute, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations from Wolega University.
