Yssis Saadi El has a diverse work experience spanning multiple fields. They are currently working as a Spiritual Mental Health Coach and Moorish Sufi Minister at Know Thyself Journey LLC since May 2020. In addition, Yssis has been serving as a Senior Minister, Senior Director, and Chief Financial Officer at The Moorish Science Temple of America-1928 since November 2003, where they provide religious services, publications, and media content to correctional institutions and prisons.
Yssis is also a Co-Founder and CEO of Project Chance for Life Community Outreach since March 2006. They have been involved in mentoring and missionary work, providing support to youth, women, men, and families, as well as offering spiritual and moral guidance to inmates in correctional institutions across the country.

Yssis Saadi El, MSW, began their educational journey in 2004, attending the Moorish Islamic Theocratic Institute (MITI). During their time there, from 2004 to 2007, they pursued a degree in Religious Studies, focusing on Philosophy and Religious Studies.
