Marilyn Cortes Lopez

Marilyn Cortes Lopez is a seasoned legal professional currently serving as VP of Claims & Legal Affairs at Puerto Rico Medical Defense Insurance Company since June 2022. With extensive experience in the insurance sector, Marilyn has held various roles at Triple-S Propiedad since July 2017, including Legal Counsel and Legal Adjuster. Additionally, Marilyn contributes to The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research as a faculty member for multiple courses, including Ethics For Today and Commercial Casualty I & II. Prior academic involvement includes a position as a professor at UPR - Carolina from April 2016 to August 2017. Marilyn began a legal career as an Attorney at MCLaw Offices and previously at Edgardo Rosario Law Offices, starting in 2007. Marilyn earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Universidad de Puerto Rico between 2003 and 2006.
