Jon Laven is an experienced education professional serving as Co-Founder and COO of Snorkl since August 2022. Concurrently, Jon has been involved with The National Summer School Initiative (NSSI) as a Mentor Teacher and Professional Development Facilitator since August 2020, focusing on enhancing discourse and access to grade-level material. Previous roles include Dean of Instruction and Teacher at Hiawatha Academies, where Jon contributed significantly to educational equity and instructional excellence, as well as Teacher Education Facilitator and Corps Member Advisor with Teach For America. Early career experience includes teaching mathematics at Clark County School District. Jon holds a Master's Degree from Yale University and a Master's Degree from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, along with a BA in Philosophy and Mathematics from St. Olaf College.
