Ilsa Ruiz Hughes

Ilsa Ruiz Hughes has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple fields and sectors. Ilsa Ruiz is currently working as the Associate Director of Communications, Global Carbon Markets at The Nature Conservancy since 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Communications and Events Manager - CEO Water Mandate at Pacific Institute from 2021-2023. Ilsa also worked as a Senior Editor at Chinampa MX from 2021-2022. Ilsa Ruiz co-founded Escape EDU in 2019 and held the role of Co-Founder until 2022. Ilsa has also been involved with Mensa México, where they served as President from 2018-2020, Past President from 2020-2022, and State Representative from 2015-2018. Ilsa Ruiz played a key role in the FEMSA Foundation as the Chief of External Affairs and Administration from 2016-2021, Chief of External Affairs and Documentation from 2012-2016, and External Affairs Coordinator from 2010-2012. Earlier in their career, Ilsa worked as the Copywriting and Editing Coordinator at the School of Medicine in UANL from 2006-2010. Ilsa Ruiz also worked as a Freelance Translator at Alazraki 20/20 in 2008. Ilsa started their career as a 5th Grade Homeroom Teacher at Colegio Cambridge de Monterrey from 2005-2006. Lastly, they worked as an Assistant to the Dean of Spanish Literature and Linguistics at Tecnológico de Monterrey in 2003.

Ilsa Ruiz Hughes obtained a BA in Spanish Language and Literature from the Tecnológico de Monterrey between the years 2000 and 2008.
