Msc Javier Saavedra Fni

Javier Saavedra, MSc, FNI, is an experienced professional in health, safety, and environmental (HSE) management, currently serving as the Head of the HSE Department at TERMINALES MARITIMOS DE GALICIA (TMGA) since February 2006. Javier has held the position of Fellow at The Nautical Institute since December 2012 and has been a member of the International Technical Panel (ITP) at ICHCA International since 2014, focusing on cargo handling safety and operational best practices. Previously, Javier served as a Chartered Member of IOSH and a Professional Member of ASSP, specializing in safety content coordination. Early career includes roles such as Surveyor-in-charge at SERMAP Marine Surveyors & Consultants and Survey Coordinator for the clean-up operations following the PRESTIGE oil spill. Javier holds multiple degrees, including a Master's in Occupational Health & Safety and an MSc in Nautical Science & Maritime Transportation.
