Simon Tunderman is a seasoned academic and researcher with extensive experience in the field of social sciences. Currently serving as a Wetenschappelijk medewerker at the Sociaal en Cultureel Planbureau since August 2022, Simon previously held the position of Lecturer at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen from September 2019 to July 2022. Prior to that, Simon was a PhD Fellow at Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences from September 2015 to August 2019 and spent time as a visiting PhD Fellow at the University of Essex in 2017-2018. Additional roles include a Blue Book Trainee at the European Commission and an Onderzoeksassistent at the Fraunhofer Center for International Management and Knowledge Economy. Simon began an academic career as a student/onderzoeksassistent at IISG between 2010 and 2011. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Europese studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Filosofie from the University of Amsterdam, a Master of Arts in Erasmus Mundus Global Studies from both Roskilde University and Leipzig University, and dual PhDs in Ideology and Discourse Analysis from the University of Essex and Political Theory from the University of Bremen.
