Rory O'Dea currently serves as Dean and Associate Professor of Contemporary Art and Design at Parsons School of Design, a position held since August 2014, where responsibilities include teaching foundation courses that enhance students' critical reading and writing skills. Previously, Rory O'Dea worked as a copywriter for Nuit Blanche New York, drafting project and curatorial statements for public art initiatives. Experience also includes roles as a Drawings Researcher at the Whitney Museum of American Art, a Visiting Critic at Yale University School of Art, and a Curatorial Research Assistant at The Morgan Library & Museum, contributing to various exhibitions and academic endeavors. Rory O'Dea began academic training with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and English Literature from Connecticut College and furthered studies by earning a Ph.D. in Modern and Contemporary Art History from The Institute of Fine Arts at NYU.
