Taykina Chowdhury Alam, LMSW, serves as the Associate Director of Helpline and Residential Programs at Womankind, where oversight includes emergency shelters and a 24/7 hotline aimed at supporting survivors of gender-based violence. Taykina holds a Master of Social Work from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from Hunter College, specializing in Public Policy, Women and Gender Studies, and Human Rights.

Founded in 1982 as the New York Asian Women’s Center and renamed in 2017, Womankind works tirelessly to create a future where we Rise Above Violence and our communities can innovate towards collective well-being, restoration, and social justice.
