Brian Lamont Mbe Ceng Fimeche

Brian Lamont MBE CEng FIMechE has a diverse and extensive work experience. Brian is currently serving as the Chief Engineer at The Newt in Somerset since June 2020. Prior to this, they had a long career in the British Army, where they held various senior positions. From 2017 to 2020, they worked as the Senior Director of Engineering and Operations Director, responsible for ensuring compliance with legislative and policy requirements for various equipment worldwide. Brian also served as the Senior Engineering and Operations Manager, overseeing the training and certification of engineers and technicians for armored fighting vehicles.

Before their time in the British Army, Lamont worked at Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) from 2007 to 2011. Here, they served as the Through Life Support manager and IT project manager. Lamont began their career in 1983 as a Mechanical Engineer in the British Army and held roles such as Senior Facilities Manager and Strategic Advisor. Brian worked in the army until 2007, gaining invaluable experience in various domains.
