David Gelhaar

David Gelhaar is a seasoned hospitality professional with extensive experience in front-of-house operations and hotel management. Currently serving as Hotel General Manager at The Newt in Somerset since May 2025, David has previously held the role of Director Front of House at Chiltern Firehouse from May 2021 to May 2025. Prior to that, David managed front-of-house activities at Blakes Hotel in London, where responsibilities included Front Of House Manager, Assistant Front Office Manager, and Guest Services Manager from November 2016 to May 2021. David's career began at Chiltern Firehouse as Guest Relations Executive from September 2014 to December 2016, following earlier positions at Nobis Hotel and Berns in front office roles. David's foundational training in hospitality was completed with an SQA Diploma in Hospitality Administration/Management from West London College between 2013 and 2014.
