Assistant Director Of Communications at NHS Confederation

Paul Cooney has a diverse work experience in various healthcare organizations. Paul started their career as a Case Officer at National Clinical Assessment Service (NCAS) in 2007 and then moved on to work as a Press Officer at National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) from 2008 to 2009. Paul also served as a Media Relations Executive at National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) from 2009 to 2013. After that, Paul worked at Care Quality Commission as a Senior Media Officer from July 2013 to December 2013, and as a Media Manager from December 2013 to April 2018. Paul then joined NHS Improvement as the Head of News from April 2018 to October 2019. Currently, Paul is working as Assistant Director of Communications at NHS Confederation since October 2019. Additionally, they had a fixed-term role as a Communications Project Manager at Guidelines International Network (G-I-N) from August 2011 to August 2012, which was commissioned via NICE.

Paul Cooney attended the University of Nottingham from 2004 to 2007, where they obtained a BA Hons degree in English.
