Balaji Subramanian

Balaji Subramanian has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Balaji currently works as the Director of Enterprise Application Development at The North West Company since June 2023. Prior to this, Balaji worked as an Independent Consultant specializing in Senior Application Consulting from September 2021 to May 2023. Balaji also served as the Vice President of Applications Development at Element Fleet Management from March 2019 to March 2021 and at AccorHotels from April 2017 to February 2019. Balaji has extensive experience in the hospitality industry, having held positions such as Executive Director, Director, Manager, and Supervisor of Applications Development at FRHI Hotels & Resorts from 2007 to 2017. Before transitioning to the hospitality sector, Balaji worked as a Consultant and Technical Lead at Ernst & Young from 2005 to 2007. Balaji began their career as a Senior Software Consultant at Prudential Securities from April 2000 to February 2005 after working as a Senior Software Consultant at Pharmacy Fund Inc. from August 1998 to April 2000. Balaji's early experience includes working as a Programmer Analyst at Imagine Technologies Inc. from October 1995 to August 1998 and as a Programmer at the Bureau of Data Processing Systems from August 1994 to October 1995.

Balaji Subramanian earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Information Systems from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, from 2003 to 2005. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science from the University of Madras, from 1991 to 1994. In addition to their formal education, Balaji has also obtained additional certifications including Machine Learning from Coursera (year unspecified), Certificate in Hospitality Management from eCornell in 2015, and MiniMBA Executive Development Course from McGill University in 2012.
