Maurice Broaddus is a multifaceted professional with extensive experience in writing, education, and community development. Currently serving as a consultant and resident Afrofuturist at Kheprw Institute since June 2018, Maurice focuses on Afrofuturism seminars and mentoring young writers. As an editor for Apex Magazine since August 2020 and a freelance writer since 1999, Maurice’s fiction has been published in several renowned magazines and includes the urban fantasy trilogy, The Knights of Breton Court. Additional roles include teaching at The Oaks Academy, consulting on community development, and co-founding Cities of Refuge Ministries, which supports individuals in recovery. Maurice's background in environmental toxicology and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Indiana University Indianapolis further enrich their diverse skill set.
