Yanis Chontzoglou

Yanis Chontzoglou is an accomplished materials engineer with a robust background in biopolymer processing and formulation engineering. Currently serving at The Ocean Cleanup since January 2023, Yanis previously contributed as a formulation engineer at VLCI, managing rheology services and high-throughput formulation projects. Experience includes a role as a research assistant at the University of Bayreuth, where Yanis engaged in three multicultural teams focused on biopolymer and biomaterials development, including techniques for 3D-printing scaffolds for tissue engineering. Early career highlights involve research internships and assistant roles at various institutions, specializing in composite materials and their applications in medical fields. Yanis holds a Master of Science in Biofabrication and a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics.
