Gene Benavides

Gene Benavides is an experienced professional in public affairs and strategic communications, currently serving in the Office of Public Affairs for Alameda County since May 2024. Gene is also an Advisory Council Member for The One Heart Movement, a nonprofit organization focused on community empowerment across various sectors. As the Principal at Blue Rock Strategies since 2010, Gene has advised clients on strategic planning and legislative goals. Previously, Gene worked as a Public Affairs Instructor at the Defense Information School and held various consulting and leadership roles in political campaigns, including serving as a National Finance Council Member for Biden for President and State Director for Bennet for America. Gene holds a B.A. in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations from California State University, Long Beach.
