Vincent Shek Kam-Cheong

Director, Human Resources at Hong Kong Metropolitan University

Mr. Vincent Shek graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor’s degree, majored in English Language and Literature and minored in Psychology. Subsequently, he obtained a Diploma in Training Management from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Vincent started his career in HRM as Assistant Labour Officer in the Labour Department. Apart from receiving comprehensive training in labour matters and employment laws, he acquired his first experience in handling HR related matters such as employment and labour relations.

After working in the Labour Department for a few years, Vincent decided to join the private sector to further his career in HRM. The move provided him with precious opportunity to acquire more exposure and experience in handling HRM matters such as HR policies & projects, compensation and benefits, job evaluation, pay and grading structure, performance management and management training.

Vincent joined this University as Senior Human Resources Manager and was promoted to Deputy Director of Human Resources then to his present position as Director of Human Resources. His vision is to create a performance culture and a work environment that attracts, motivates and engages the right talent affordable to support the long term development and sustainability of the University.
